I was up at 5.00 this morning, so took the time (!) to try a new recipe for Homemade Granola. Until now, I’ve been buying a Gluten Free (though super-sugary, super-fatty) Health Store brand, so I was pretty excited at the prospect of making my own.
I created a slightly altered version of an excellent recipe from cookieandkate.com (so good)- click here to get the recipe.
What I like about this recipe is, I can control what goes into it without entirely mucking up the outcome (just keep the wet & dry ingredient amounts roughly the same), there are no additives & preservatives and the ingredients are all things I’m striving to include in my diet (like coconut oil- which is way more enjoyable mixed into this deliciousness than eating straight from the jar with a spoon).
I added less maple syrup, more oats & omitted the cinnamon and have ended with a salty-ish, additive & preservative-free, deliciously addictive snack. The photo doesn’t do it justice. Try it and see. Good luck!
